Wayne Snow releases heartfelt new single, Faceless.
Nigerian-born neo-soul artist Wayne Snow releases his new single ‘Faceless’ via Roche Musique. Composed alongside Nicholas Meyer and crayon (also on production duties), the bouncy beat and breathless energy create the perfect canvas for a song that portrays a heartfelt message that true love is pure and faceless. Taken from his forthcoming album Figurine – due for release on the 24th September 2021– ‘faceless’ is now amongst the incredible stream of singles from the Berlin-based artists who have recently released ‘Seventy’, ‘Nina’ and ‘The Thrill’ from the album to much applaud from the likes of Evening Standard, Notion, COLORS, Resident Advisor, Afropunk, and BBC Radio 1, 2 and 6!
“Love has not just one face, but thousands. When you believe you have discovered one, it immediately dissolves into a huge field of faces. That’s why in this song, I ask myself if true love has to be faceless for it to be the same for everyone.”
There’s nothing cold about Wayne Snow’s music; it channels the sun-kissed, soulful vibes of his homeland ever since his first childhood encounter with a synthesizer. Three years in the making, Figurine is a conceptual, personal work of depth and reflection, one that critically considers humanity’s obsession with masks and our creation of avatars. It’s a record based around a simple question–“Who is the real you?”–and led Snow to explore birth, individuality, and our obsession with social media. Love and our increasing sense of alienation are deconstructed, as is the reality of modern-day relationships. And intertwined with all this is Snow’s Nigerian heritage and the deep sense of pride and admiration he feels towards his country of birth.
Led by acclaimed photographer & director Travys Owen, the project was executed by a small, tight-knit creative team who previously worked with The Roots, Flying Lotus, Erykah Badu, Mumford & Sons, Major Lazer, Burna Boy, and Petite Noir.
