Wizkid headlines the Royal Albert Hall’s first Afrobeats concert

29th September 2017, will be remembered as one of the highlights of the Afrobeats music scene in the UK.

Afrobeats star Wizkid became the first Afrobeats artist to headline a sold out show at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, as part of the Albert Sessions. According to Royal Albert Hall website, the Albert Sessions enables artists who have not previously headlined at the venue to offer cut-price tickets to fans, and engage with the Hall’s education & outreach programme by offering a bespoke educational opportunity for young people.

It was a landmark honour for Wizkid, the Afrobeats genre and Africans in the UK. It was the beginning of a new dawn in the Afrobeats scene in the UK. Wizkid’s performance was sensational, offering his fans a classic musical experience with his bulging catalogue of hits.
