AMAKA PRESENTS AN EVENING WITH YEMI ALADE IN CELEBRATION OF AFRICA DAY!

On the evening of the 26th of May, EAST LONDON Studios, SOUNDS OF AFRICA were treated to an exclusive night at AMAKA presents an evening with Nigerian Singer-Songwriter sensational, Actress and Activist “Mama Africa “YEMI ALADE celebrating AFRICA DAY!

It was brought to you by Creative Africa Nexus.

The night’s ambience was a heartfelt celebration of the growing creative African space.

AMAKA is a Black-owned magazine celebrating Pan – African womanhood, and CANEX (Creative Africa Nexus) joined forces to bring the event together.

CANEX supports Africa’s Creative growing Industries.

The only thing left to enjoy was the beverage on the night supplied by Southern Comfort UK and a range of delicious canapes for guests to enjoy, with a fantastic lineup of black women DJs. The only thing left was enjoying celebrating a genuinely symbolic day, “AFRICA DAY”.

They Kicked off with AMAKA Editor-in-Chief Ivie Ani with a short insightful conversation with YEMI ALADE, where she spoke about the beauty and need of women, African women in the music industry the importance of supporting each other as women too! Yemi was clear on the term “Mama Africa” as an endearment term, and all women are one. She was sharing this title with the ladies in attendance.

YEMI let us into her world in conversation and performance. The Afro Pop star captured the audience with an epic LIVE performance with her band. She took us back to the Motherland for her set, from the authentic African drums to her incredible vocals.

As Yemi put it, she’s giving us something OLD & NEW!

With a mixture of some of YEMI’S classic songs to her latest single, “My Man”, featuring Dancehall Artist Kranium. YEMI also shared an unreleased NEW record coming soon in YEMI’s upcoming project, so make sure you look out for that beauty.

Between the epic dancing and vocals, YEMI encapsulates why she is “MAMA AFRICA” SOA like others were left wanting more!

The disclaimer is YEMI, but she is not looking for her “Johnny”, but SOA is looking forward to her new project and next live show.
