A celebration of life: Rest in Peace Drey
This 2020 has been a devastating, eventful year for the world as a whole and specifically for the African Music scene.
When we thought that our heart couldn’t break any further, we are sad to announce the death of Cameroonian dancer Drey from the famous D3 Dancers.
She and her group took the afrobeat dance scene by storm.
They were a prolific group of professional, dancers and their service was highly demanded by top African musicians, to name a few Olamide, L.A.X, Wizkid, Awilo, Don Jazzy and Korede Bello, Iyanya.
Among their impressive achievement, the group won an Afrimma Award in 2015 for Best Dance Group.
According to Documentary photographer, Micheal Tubes, who has worked with her several times, remembers her as someone charming to work with, she always had a beautiful smile on her face even when she was facing hurdles not known to a home.
She always lit up her surroundings with positive energy and good vibes. She was extremely caring, courageous, creative, daring and all-around a fantastic friend.
The African music industry lost a star; may her soul rest in eternal peace.
We will surely be missed
