Viral Somali Artists signs Release Deal with Universal Music
The love song ‘Isii Nafta (Love You More Than My Life).’ has been spreading like wildfire across social media on TikTok, Twitter and Instagram.
For a while, the singer’s identity was unknown because she was not connected to any social media page. However, with that being said, this did not stop the song from going viral; some of our favourite celebrities have enjoyed the song, from Cardi B dancing and vibing to it and Ayra Starr who was seen dancing to it during her private gig in London.
The viral track (Isii Nafta), which incorporates Arabic, Swahili and English lyrics was released five years ago and became a hit two years ago in East Africa.
Nimco Happy based in Somalia was recently informed of the viral success of her song, signed a deal with Polydor Records (a division of universal music). She recorded a video thanking people around the world for their support after signing the deal via her new and now verified social media account.
The song has been given different remixes, but the Amapiano mix is definitely the most solid!
