Wizkid – Made in Lagos concerts

As the year draws closer to an end and where we all set sail to the shores of Accra Ghana, Wizkid will show London how it really is made in Lagos!

To date, Wizkid is the only Afrobeats artist to headline a show at the iconic O2 Arena for the third time in a row, and this year sees Lagos come to life in London’s O2 area once again.

When Wizkid held his ‘Star Boy Fest’ in 2019 on 24th October, He said, ‘Tonight isn’t about Wizkid, it’s not about Star Boy, it’s about African Music’, and those words were echoed throughout the night by the Star Boy himself as he indeed showed and proved that the movement (Africa) is more prominent than him.

Wizkid’s concerts truly are for the culture because his last two concerts saw a star-studded night with guest artists putting in just as much work as the headliner as we could hear the spirit of Africa through every line. You would be remiss not to give the stars their props as they gathered mind-blowing reactions from the crowd as they touched down on the stage and had everyone dancing and singing at the top of their lungs to the sounds of the beats.

So you’ll forgive our excitement as we gear up to November with more delights from Wizkid taking place at his usual spot on Sunday 28th November. With our excitement, we join the world as we all jubilee to hear the new additional date added to take place straight after Monday 29th November and 1st December 2021. (I mean, who needs work anyway).

So if you’ve got your tickets, all you need to worry about is what outfit you will be wearing. The key to which you will sing back at Wiz because, on those three nights, we all might proudly feel Nigerian, especially if the recent success of Wiz’s song Essence with Tems is anything to go by.
Let’s not forget that ‘Essence’, which is only one track from Wizkid’s album ‘Made in Lagos’, became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 before Justin Bieber jumped on the remix too.

When we say Made in Lagos, we don’t just say Made in Lagos, but we mean ‘Made in Lagos’ as this continues to be a monumental, historical milestone for African music and Afrobeats as a whole.
We can’t imagine what to expect from Wizkid on the 28th & 29th November 2021 and 1st December, but we know one thing for sure is that the drum will certainly not disappoint!

Lastly, stay up to date with all you need to know about African music at SOA, right here.
