The Current Top 8 SUMMER 2021 Songs on replay in Kigali

Summer 2021 is finally here! Signifying a time of “Hen-joyment” BBQ’s, house parties, get together, concerts, festivals, and so much more. The time of year where many artists churn out some new flows, creative tracks are to provide us with soundtracks for the summer months. Despite 2021 being colonised by “Koro Koro” aka “Rona” aka Corona Virus for the second consecutive year, Rwandan Artist still delivered true fan service minus the ability to perform live at the usual events such as Kivou Fest, Jungle Carnival and Iwacu Muzika Festival to name a few.

Here are the Top 8 summer hit songs released in 2021, sound waves that raise the temperature.

8. I’M IN LOVE – BABO

Babo’s third single following, ‘On You’ and ‘Go Low’, featured The Ben, with the eccentric vibe of tropics, rich colour and complimentary dance moves. ‘I’m in Love’ gives us the urge to pack our bags and vacay at a beach setting with our bae’s… the vibe and alluring visuals delivered directly to the viewers from the Aegean Sea indicate Summer has arrived. Babo literally set the tone not only for Summer 2021 but also this playlist with lyrics such as ‘sinagusiga disi, uri uwambere ku isi’ loosely translates “I can’t leave you, you are number one in this world”, the song was released on the 09th August 2021, produced by Rwanda’s very own Madebeats whilst directed by Julien Bmjizzo.

5. ABA EX – BEN ADOLPHE FT PLATINI P

‘Aba ex bariyahura’ translated means “exes are ending their lives”, has a super catchy flow to it, with the repetition of the chorus describing his new loves attentiveness and the effects of this union, ‘Bararira bariyahura, nibabona uko unyitaho’ means “they will cry, they are suiciding themselves when they see how you care for me”. Released 04th June 2021, it is a song produced by infamous Element ‘Eleeeh’ and directed by Tanzania’s director Rock shot; these two stylishly dressed artists were dripping with swag, dressed by Noel Ndale, one of the best designers in Tanzania.  2. KATAPILLA- BRUCE MELODIE

Bruce Melodie is baaaaack! On the 24th of June 2021, he dropped this track with Element ‘Eleéeh’ production and directed by Rwanda’s director, Meddy Saleh. It is well-recognised that Bruce Melodie always delivers; hence, he has been mentioned in a few of our articles so far. Katapilla took our expectations to another level, crowning this song as #SummerAnthem on his Instagram page. Who can deny this? We’ll wait…?

After hearing the two-step beat, which sets you in dance motion, have you signing to the Chorus like Bruce, but it “I am ready to die for you, strike all the swine for you…”.

Enjoy this summer anthem, and thank us later!

1. MY VOW- MEDDY

This year was exceptional for this artist as earlier this year, he tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend, Mimi Mehfira. The 22nd July 2021 ushered Meddy’s vow to his newly wedded wife by releasing this track produced by no other than ‘Madebeats’ and directed by 1Shot. Meddy really blessed our ears with this song; it is a 4-minute track yet appears shorter due to the lovebirds enchanting the viewers in the video. As you can imagine, this highly anticipated wedding of the year attracted artists from all over the globe to their special day in Dallas, Texas, earlier this year. This is the first time a Rwandan song reached 1 million on Youtube in only 2 days and 3 million views in only 3 days, plus the song was ranked number 1 on Youtube in Uganda.

Congrats to the beautiful couple, and thank you for sharing their vows with us!
